Monica Allison is a literacy advocate, parent empowerment coach, and multigenerational educator with over 20 years of experience supporting families through early childhood education, literacy, and culturally grounded care. She is the founder of Future Leaders LLC, a mission-driven organization that empowers parents—especially Black families and caregivers in underserved communities—to confidently lead their children’s literacy journey.

Monica is the creator of the B.E.A.M.™ Coaching Circle, a strengths-based coaching program rooted in the belief that “You already have the power—and that’s more than enough.” Her work blends evidence-based literacy practices with cultural affirmation and emotional support, helping families reclaim their role as first teachers with joy, confidence, and pride.

A passionate storyteller, Monica is also the author of several children’s books including The Ice Cream Man Is Coming (2021), Our Family Is Different (2021), Grandparents Are Special (2023), and the upcoming time-travel adventure Sekou’s Time Quest. Her most recent publication, Everyday Courage: A Reflection Journal for Those Learning to Live After Loss (2025), offers gentle space for grief, healing, and hope.

As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Monica brings lived experience and generational wisdom to every space she holds. Whether coaching parents, writing books, or leading community initiatives in West Philadelphia, her message remains clear: literacy is legacy—and families are the heart of the movement.
